A parent volunteer who answered the call when the club needed leadership most, he stepped up as Chairman during a critical, rocky period, ultimately saving the club from closure. It was a vital position he would go on to hold for over a decade.
His impact across the club has been immense. He was instrumental in launching the Tots initiative, laid the groundwork for the club’s digital presence by starting a YouTube channel that grew from covering a single team to featuring almost every player, and has been a relentless ambassador—heading into local schools, events, and galas to promote both the club and rugby league.
A true clubman, he never hesitated to roll up his sleeves, taking on vital behind-the-scenes roles including groundsman, Club Welfare Officer (CWO), and general maintenance. His dedication extends to the field as well; at the time of his induction, he holds the record for the most appearances for the Masters team, where he proudly shares his passion for the club alongside his family.

A product of Toll Bar Juniors, Gaz graduated to the professional ranks, representing several clubs before returning to the side. Despite some time away and a few inconsistent seasons, he has spent the last few years playing at the top of his game. He is now widely recognized as the open-age all-time top try scorer—a testament to his prolific finishing ability.
Gaz’s journey hasn’t been easy; he has overcome severe injuries, most notably a badly broken leg, to remain a cornerstone of the team’s massive success throughout the 2010s and 2020s. Among his many accolades, his standout achievements include scoring six tries in a single match on two separate occasions, and crossing for five tries against a National Conference team—who were so impressed they tried to sign him on the spot.
